This is the latest version of the fabled Hankster Messenger Knicker.
We made some improvements where we thought necessary, all the
while keeping most of the standard features. The face fabric is
a hair lighter than before, allowing for extended wear outside
the fall/winter weather window. To put it in common terms, the
weight of the fabric feels more Dickie® than Carhartt®. The slight
stretch in this fabric comes from its construction (mechanical).
The material also has the added benefit of an enhanced Durable
Water Repellent (DWR) finish applied to the fabric, making them
extremely water-resistant. In addition, the front pockets received
a super plush lining upgrade. From a styling standpoint, we did
away with the lower cargo pockets in favor of adding a stealth
side cell pocket. The thread color is a subtle brownish contrast.
The Hanksters come in black for now, with the likelihood of another
color added before fall 06. And now we pick up with the description
of old . . .
This technical trouser will enable you to hit any road, trail,
or grocery isle in swanky style. They're cut long enough to give
your knees some protection, but short enough to avoid drive train
disaster. They have a constructed, half-elastic waistband, with
belt-loops and a zippered fly. We use a burly non-swiveling tack
button closure. They have a comfortable cut. Two front pockets
with a little stitch doo-dad to keep your precious hard-earned
change from seeping back out of the pocket and into a couch crevasse.
The rear pockets are sized to fit a Mini U-Lock, easy to access,
and secured with a Velcro® closure. They have a reinforced seat
(with a subtle, built-in anti-microbial pad). We bar tack in critical
stress areas. We've tested this knicker doing just about anything
and everything and it still proves itself time and time again.
They're about as faithful as an old friend.
